About Deborah
I live in Seattle with my husband and two children. When I gave birth, I fell in love with my son and with parenting. I have been fortunate to follow my passion and work with new moms and parents. Since 2000, I have led many PEPS groups helping women transition into parenthood and encouraging a support network. In 2005, I became a Certified Gottman Educator, trained to lead Bringing Baby Home. This led me to study at the Seattle Midwifery School and complete my birth doula training in January 2009. In addition, I worked with Penny Simkin assisting with her childbirth classes from the summer of 2009 – 2011, and Kim James in 2012. I have expanded my coaching practice from birth doula to parent coaching. In 2014, I undertook a year-long graduate level certification program with the PCI. In January 2015, I became a certified PCI® Parent Coach.
Being a birth doula is a privilege and an honor. It’s amazing to work with each couple and help them bring their baby into this world the way they have chosen to do so. It’s richly rewarding, intimate, powerful and I love the experience. I deeply believe that every couple should have the benefit of a doula and am committed to supporting each couple.
Being a Parent Coach is rewarding and exciting. I am passionate about parenting and I have enjoyed the relationship with my clients continuing and deepening after the birth of their child. The PCI® model is unique and helpful for all parents. I feel strongly about helping parents be their best selves, parenting well and understanding what is working in their family structure.
I love what I do. I love being a parent – it is what I have always wanted to be. I love parent coaching and helping other parents be their most genuine self. It is a gift. I have a strong desire to help other parents navigate the journey we are on while raising our children. I feel honored to be able to do that with my clients. he passion in my heart that led me to coaching is my desire to equip parents. I’ve worked for nearly a decade as a birth doula and I am a parent myself. It’s a crazy world we are raising our kids in, with lots of pressure from many different angles. It can be easy to get lost in the craziness and need help finding our way to a thriving life. I love working with parents to gain clarity and help them feel equipped as a parent. If any of this is ringing true for you, I’d love to work with you.
